Recent Hires
Bettina Longino, Ph.D., Todd Hall, M.S., and Patrick Smart, M.S., P.E., have recently joined The Johnson Company’s growing contaminant hydrogeology and engineering remediation group. Dr. Longino holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Queens University in Ontario, Canada and brings over 10 years of professional experience emphasizing subsurface fate and transport of DNAPL and dissolved-phase constituents. Her expertise includes design and implementation of overall investigation and remediation strategies, conceptual model development, feasibility study and remedial action plan preparation, technical peer review, litigation support, and management of multi-stakeholder project teams. Dr. Longino is also an Associate Editor of Ground Water, a leading peer-reviewed international journal for practicing professionals published by the National Ground Water Association, and an active participant in the Groundwater Resources Association of California technical symposium series.

Mr. Hall has two M.S. degrees from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, with one in Environmental Engineering and the other in Geoscience / Hydrogeological Engineering. He has more than 12 years of experience in environmental site investigations, contaminated site remediation, and health and safety, which includes 10 years of national and international consulting experience.

Mr. Smart has a M.S. degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He has six years of experience specializing in industrial wastewater treatment and site remediation design.

New Office Opened in Manchester, NH
The Johnson Company has recently opened an office at 36 Salmon Street in  Manchester, NH in order to better serve clients in southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  Mr. Chris Turner, P.G., is in charge of this new office.  The office phone number is (603) 232-2974.

Site Investigation completed in Nabesna, Alaska
A field crew from The Johnson Company recently completed a three-week field program at a gold mine site in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska. The site investigation comprised of sediment and surface water sampling, geological and geotechnical soil borings, and groundwater profiling. Results will aid in delineating the environmental effects of mine tailings on the local environment and assist in determining options for engineered remediation.
