Solid and hazardous waste
The project team studied the current waste management systems and facilities and developed recommendations for alternative waste management strategies and technologies to provide significant improvements.

In addition to specific solid waste collection system and disposal facility improvements, The Johnson Company recommended a province-wide system for managing spent chemicals and oils, and specifically addressed the safe management of infectious medical waste.

The Johnson Company effort included local partners to ensure efficient communication and to transfer the new knowledge to the local stakeholders. Alternative, affordable technologies were identified and applied to improve the infrastructure and eliminate public health problems.
