An American corporation required a thorough subsurface investigation carried out to U.S. quality standards in an area of southern France where environmental expertise is limited.

The Johnson Company mobilized all necessary equipment and a mobile laboratory to an industrial site in southern France. Using innovative subsurface groundwater profiling techniques, geophysics, and the technical resources of a complex on-site analytic laboratory, The Johnson Company defined contaminant source areas for subsequent removal. The investigation included soil and groundwater profiling, soil vapor analysis, and subsurface geophysics. Surface water/groundwater interactions were also evaluated and a long-term monitoring plan developed.
